Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government has launched a significant initiative to increase the income of rural women and strengthen agriculture in the state.

Under the Uttar Pradesh State Rural Livelihoods Mission, a beekeeping program has been implemented, through which women associated with self-help groups will be linked to honey production.

Under the scheme, one lakh rural women in the state will be developed as beekeepers over the next three years. The government aims to increase the annual income of each woman entrepreneur by approximately one lakh rupees through this initiative.

Beekeeping will also increase the productivity of many crops

Beekeeping will not only promote honey production but will also significantly increase the productivity of wheat, mustard, pulses, oilseeds, and horticultural crops through pollination. This will increase farmers' income and strengthen the agriculture-based economy.

Under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath's 'Mission Village' program, preparations are underway to give recognition to the honey produced in the state in national and international markets. Under the scheme, women will develop their own honey brands and connect directly with the market through marketing.

The women entrepreneurs will be provided with training, technical assistance, and marketing support so that UP's honey can be established on the global stage with quality and reliability. This initiative will not only make rural women self-reliant but will also give a new direction to the state's rural economy.
