Morkel stated that Abhishek only needs a good start, after which he will find his rhythm. The Indian opener has not played a big innings in the three matches played so far.
Abhishek had a long conversation with Gambhir
During Friday's practice session, Abhishek was seen having a long conversation with head coach Gautam Gambhir. Gambhir was seen advising him on some technical aspects, which Abhishek listened attentively.
After this, he also practiced high catches. However, sometimes excessive practice can backfire. He was also seen bowling to other batsmen during the session. When Morkel was asked if there had been any discussion within the team regarding Abhishek's performance, he denied it.

Apart from facing South Africa in Ahmedabad on February 22, India will lock horns with Zimbabwe (February 26 in Chennai) and West Indies (March 1 in Kolkata) in the Super 8s.
