Pakistan Afghanistan War: Afghanistan attacked Pakistan late Thursday night. Fifty-five Pakistani soldiers were killed in an attack by Taliban fighters in Kunar province,  said Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid.

The Afghan government claims to have the bodies of 23 Pakistani soldiers. A Pakistani army headquarters and 19 outposts have also been captured.

Afghanistan's deputy spokesperson, Hamdullah Fitrat, said that some Pakistani soldiers were captured alive, while several weapons, a tank, and a harvester were seized.

Pakistan's Defense Minister Khawaja Asif has declared "open war" against the Afghan Taliban.

The Pakistani Defense Minister warned the Afghan Taliban that "our patience has run out" and now there will be "open war."

Pakistan's Information Minister Ataullah Tarar said in a statement on X that Pakistan targeted Afghan Taliban defense positions in Kabul, Paktika, and Kandahar, Afghanistan.

He claimed that Pakistan's operations destroyed two Afghan Taliban corps headquarters, two weapons depots, a logistics warehouse, three battalion headquarters, two sector headquarters, and more than 80 tanks. Ataullah Tarar says that the Pakistani operation is still ongoing.
