Rajasthan: Eight workers from Bihar die in firecracker factory fire in Bhiwadi, PM Modi expresses condolences

A fire broke out at a chemical and firecracker factory in the Khuskheda Karauli Industrial Area in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan, on Monday morning. Eight workers died in the fire. Four seriously injured workers have been referred to AIIMS Hospital in Delhi.

Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Sumitra Mishra, who was present at the scene, confirmed seven deaths. She said, "We have recovered seven bodies. All the deceased were residents of Motihari district in Bihar."

The FSL team has collected evidence from the scene. An investigation is underway and will reveal the cause of the accident.

Firecrackers were being manufactured illegally at the factory. Gunpowder, firecrackers, and packing boxes were found at the scene.

The accident occurred at around 9:30 am on Monday in the Khuskheda Karauli Industrial Area. Around 25 workers were working at the time of the incident.

The bodies were badly burned, leaving only skeletons of many. Pieces of body parts were found scattered. The rescue team collected these pieces in polythene.

Collector Artika Shukla said, "It appears to be small explosive material. There was no gas leak."

According to ADM Sumita Mishra, the factory owner's name is Rajendra. He had leased the factory to one Tiwari. Both have not been contacted.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the loss of lives in fire mishap in Bhiwadi, Rajasthan.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma described the accident as tragic and directed the local administration to carry out relief and rescue operations.
