Colombo: India defeated Pakistan by 61 runs in the T20 World Cup-2026. This is India's biggest win over Pakistan in terms of runs in the tournament's history. With this victory, the Indian team qualified for the Super 8 round. The team is at the top of the Group A points table with three consecutive wins.

Chasing a target of 176 runs at the R. Premadasa Stadium in Colombo on Sunday, Pakistan were all out for 114 runs in 18 overs. Usman Khan top-scored with 44 runs. Jasprit Bumrah, Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy, and Hardik Pandya took two wickets each for India.

Earlier, after losing the toss and batting first, India scored 175 runs for 7 wickets in 20 overs. Ishan Kishan scored 77 runs off 40 balls, including 10 fours and three sixes. Captain Suryakumar Yadav scored 32 runs. Saim Ayub took three wickets.

From the other end, Tilak Verma contributed 25 runs from 24 balls but couldn't convert them into a big innings. India suffered some quick setbacks in the middle overs. Hardik Pandya was caught off the first ball while attempting a big shot. Captain Suryakumar Yadav scored 32 runs from 29 balls and anchored the innings. Shivam Dubey was run out after scoring 27 runs from 17 balls, while Axar Patel was caught off the first ball.

Saim Ayub took three wickets for Pakistan. In addition, Usman, Shaheen, and Salman Ali Agha took one wicket each. Usman Tariq was given a chance to bowl in the 11th over and conceded only six runs in his first over. 

Two changes were made to the Indian team. Abhishek Sharma replaced Sanju Samson, while Kuldeep Yadav replaced Arshdeep Singh. Abhishek Sharma missed the previous match against Namibia due to a stomach infection but returned fit for this match.
