Uttarakhand: Bus carrying 30 plunges into deep gorge in Dehradun's Kalsi area
Kalsi Mienak Road Accident: A very tragic news has emerged from Dehradun district of Uttarakhand. A Himachal Pradesh Road Transport Corporation (HRTC) bus, carrying passengers, went out of control and plunged into a deep gorge on the Kuanu-Meenak road under the Kalsi police station area. According to initial information, more than 30 passengers were on board the bus.
Some videos from the scene are emerging, showing several people injured in the accident.
People rescued by breaking the windows
The videos of the Dehradun bus accident are chilling. The bus fell into a gorge and overturned, trapping people inside. People had to be rescued by breaking the windows. There are fears that some people may have lost their lives in the accident, although no fatalities have been confirmed yet. Local residents are helping to pull the injured out of the bus.
This morning, the main control room (CCR) in Dehradun received information that a bus had met with a horrific accident on the remote Meenak road in the Kalsi area. According to eyewitnesses, the bus suddenly lost control and skidded off the road, falling into a deep gorge. The severity of the accident can be gauged from the fact that the bus is feared to be completely destroyed. Upon receiving the information, the local police and villagers immediately launched relief and rescue operations.
Considering the seriousness of the accident, SDRF Commandant Arpan Yaduvanshi immediately ordered a rescue operation. Following his orders, special rescue teams have been dispatched from four different locations: Dakpathar, Chakrata, Mori, and Tyuni.
