Holi 2026: Flower Holi to be celebrated at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham, what will be special about it?
Varanasi: "Pushp Holi" or flower Holi will be organized for devotees from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Shankaracharya Chowk in the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham complex.
A meeting was held recently in the auditorium of the Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham with top officials, representatives of the CRPF, private security agencies, and the private cleaning agency working at the Dham regarding preparations for the Holi festival. It was unanimously decided that devotees would be able to participate in the Holi festival in a spiritual and cultural environment through a flower shower on Holi.
In view of the expected influx of devotees to the Dham, detailed discussions were held on security, cleanliness, crowd management, and the outline of cultural programs. It was decided to ensure that devotees enjoy Holi in a comfortable, safe, and spiritual environment by establishing better coordination between all departments.
Special cultural performances will be given
Executive Officer Vishwa Bhushan Mishra stated that, in addition, special cultural performances will be given by artists on March 4, maintaining the dignity of the festival. These will include bhajans, Holi songs, and traditional dances. The main objective of these programs is to provide devotees with the joy of the festival in a spiritual and cultural environment.
For security reasons, adequate police force and security personnel will be deployed in the Dham premises. Special surveillance will be maintained at the entry and exit gates through CRPF and private security agencies. Continuous monitoring will also be ensured through CCTV cameras.
To maintain a strong sanitation system, regular cleaning will be arranged by a private cleaning agency. The temple administration has specifically requested all devotees not to bring chemical colors, abir, or any harmful substances into the Dham. In view of the sanctity, cleanliness, and safety of the Dham's structure, the festival should be celebrated only through Pushp Holi.
