Israel US Iran War: Crude Oil Prices Rise Again Following Iran's Response to Trump's Claims
After a sharp decline on Monday, the price of Brent crude has once again climbed above $100 per barrel.
On Tuesday morning in Asia, Brent crude rose by 3.75% to reach $103.69 per barrel.
Earlier, on Monday, Brent prices had plummeted by more than 10% after US President Donald Trump announced that he was postponing new attacks on Iran. Trump had stated that a peace agreement with Iran could be reached soon.
However, Iran subsequently rejected these claims made by Trump, and since then, oil prices have been observed rising once again.
Meanwhile, the US presidential office—the White House—has attempted to quell speculation regarding "potential talks" with Iran.
Earlier, President Donald Trump had indicated that both sides were making "major" progress toward an agreement.
President Donald Trump had stated that discussions had taken place regarding bringing the ongoing conflict in the Middle East to a complete end. He noted that "positive talks" had occurred concerning the issue of a "complete resolution."
However, Iran's Foreign Ministry has refuted US President Donald Trump's statements regarding negotiations.
Amidst the various statements emerging from different leaders regarding the issue of war, reports have also surfaced suggesting that US Vice President JD Vance might participate in these talks in Pakistan.
However, the White House maintains that the situation remains "volatile" for the time being. It also stated that no formal meeting has been announced between any top-ranking leaders of the US and Iran.
White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said, "These are sensitive diplomatic discussions, and the US will not negotiate through the press." Levitt stated, "This is a fluid situation, and speculation regarding meetings should not be considered final until the White House makes a formal announcement."
