Ram Navami 2026: The grand festival of Chaitra Navratri is currently underway. Ram Navami is celebrated on the final day of Chaitra Navratri. This year, Ram Navami will be celebrated on March 26. Some areas might celebrate on March 27. Let us explore what offerings you can present to Lord Shri Ram on this special occasion to seek His divine grace.

Offerings of Yellow Sweets

According to Hindu scriptures, on the sacred occasion of Ram Navami, one should offer yellow-colored sweets, Kesar Bhat (saffron rice), Kheer (rice pudding), Panchamrit, and Dhaniya Panjiri (coriander-based sweet) to Lord Shri Ram during the worship ceremony.

It is crucial to ensure that Tulsi leaves (Holy Basil) are included in these offerings, as Lord Ram is an avatar of Lord Vishnu, and any offering made to Him is considered incomplete without the inclusion of Tulsi.

Offer Marigold and Jasmine Flowers

During the Ram Navami worship, offering Marigold (Genda), Jasmine (Chameli), or Lotus flowers to Lord Ram is considered highly auspicious. Additionally, one should offer Roli (sacred red powder), sandalwood paste, and incense (Dhup) during the rituals. Offering these items to Lord Ram with deep faith and devotion pleases the Lord, and He bestows blessings of happiness and prosperity upon the devotee.

Perform a Havan (Sacred Fire Ritual)

Ram Navami also marks the conclusion of Chaitra Navratri. On this occasion, it is considered auspicious to perform a Havan (sacred fire ritual) following the worship of Lord Ram. Performing a Havan using sesame seeds (Til), barley (Jau), clarified butter (Ghee), wood, and Guggul helps dispel negative energy from the home and enhances positivity, thereby maintaining an atmosphere of happiness and prosperity within the household.

Engage in Charity

Performing acts of charity (Daan) holds special significance on the day of Ram Navami. To seek the grace of Lord Ram, you may donate food grains, clothing, jaggery (Gur), Bengal gram (Chana Dal), and items associated with marital bliss (Suhag).

Furthermore, feeding the poor and needy on this day is considered an extremely auspicious and meritorious act.

Recite Shri Ramcharitmanas and Sundarkand

On the auspicious day of Ram Navami, you must recite the Shri Ramcharitmanas and the Sundarkand. Reciting the Ramayana on this day boosts one's morale and purifies the mind. Furthermore, reciting these two texts invokes the blessings and divine support of both Lord Rama and Lord Hanuman.
