Iran's military bases on Kharg Island destroyed
US President Donald Trump has stated, "Just moments ago, acting on my orders, US Central Command executed one of the most powerful airstrikes in the history of the Middle East, completely destroying all military bases located on Kharg Island. Kharg Island is considered one of Iran's most critical assets."
Posting this message on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump wrote that, for the time being, "for humanitarian and moral reasons, I have decided not to target the island's oil infrastructure."
Since the outbreak of war between the United States, Israel, and Iran, oil refineries and storage tanks across the entire Middle East have become targets of attacks.
To date, the Israeli military has struck oil depots in the Rey, Shahr-e-Ziba, and Aqdasiyeh districts of Tehran, as well as the Fardis district in the city of Karaj. The Israeli military asserts that the targets of these strikes were fuel tanks that the Iranian government "was utilizing to establish military depots."
