US Israel Iran War: Emergency services in Israel report that the Iranian missile attack on the southern city of Arad has caused significant damage.
According to Magen David Adom, an emergency medical service, 88 people have been hospitalized following the attacks.
Of these, 10 people are seriously injured, 19 have sustained moderate injuries, and 55 have suffered minor injuries.
Following these attacks, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu spoke with the Mayor of Arad. He described the attacks as a "very difficult evening."
Netanyahu wrote on social media platform X: "In this ongoing campaign for our future, this evening is a very difficult one. I have instructed the Director General of my office to coordinate with all government ministries to provide every necessary form of assistance."
Netanyahu further added: "I commend the emergency and rescue teams currently working at the scene, and I urge everyone to follow the directives of the Home Front Command."
Netanyahu stated that Israel will continue to strike its enemies on all fronts.
All schools in Israel closed
Israel's Minister of Education has stated that, following the Iranian attacks in Dimona and Arad, he has consulted with the Major General of the Home Front Command.
Writing on the social media platform X, he stated: "I have decided that, on Sunday and Monday, all exemptions will be suspended, and no in-person classes will be permitted."
Education Minister Yoav Kisch further clarified that, during this period, exemptions previously granted for special education will also be revoked, and remote learning (online classes) will be implemented across the entire country. He added that "Yellow Areas" (designated spaces for children) will also remain closed during this time.
The Education Minister indicated that further decisions regarding the path forward will be taken only after a reassessment of the situation prior to Tuesday.
