Congress Has Brought Yet Another Stain Upon Itself By Defeating Women's Reservation Bill-2026: What More BJP Leader Vijay Kumar Sinha Said?
Patna: Senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha stated on Friday that, by defeating the Women's Reservation Bill-2026 in the Lok Sabha, the Congress party has brought yet another stain of disgrace upon itself—the likes of which have not been seen since the Emergency era.
Issuing a statement on Friday, Sinha asserted that the Congress and other opposition parties have once again betrayed the rights of women. He noted that a conspiracy was hatched to defeat the Women's Reservation Bill-2026 in the Lok Sabha by a mere 54 votes. The legislation aimed at securing the rightful share of the country's female population. This reveals the true face of an opposition that has historically opposed women's reservation in the past as well.
Vijay Kumar Sinha remarked that while the BJP has been striving with utmost sincerity and dedication toward women's empowerment, the Congress, conversely, remained intent on sabotaging the bill in the House by manufacturing excuses. He lamented that this historic opportunity to ensure adequate representation for women in Parliament and State Assemblies has slipped away due to the Congress party's negative mindset.
Future of women is not important for the Opposition
BJP leader Sinha observed that for parties such as the Congress, the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), and the Samajwadi Party (SP), political maneuvering holds greater significance than the future of women. He warned that the women of our nation would ultimately have to bear the brunt of the anti-women mindset displayed by the Congress and the opposition parties.
Vijay Kumar Sinha emphasized that the BJP had dedicated itself wholeheartedly to the task of opening the doors of power for the women of the country. He asserted that the public would undoubtedly hold the Congress accountable for this transgression against women. The sisters and daughters of this nation, he added, would never forgive the Congress for this despicable act.
