Legendary Bollywood singer Asha Bhosle was admitted to Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai on Saturday evening following complaint of extreme fatigue and a chest infection. It was previously reported that she had suffered a heart attack.

Her granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle, wrote on Instagram: My grandmother, Asha Bhosle, is hospitalized due to extreme fatigue and a chest infection. She is undergoing treatment and hopefully will recover. We will bring you good news soon. Zanai Bhosle is the daughter of Asha Bhosle's son, Anand.

Known for songs such as Piya Tu Ab To Aaja, Jaiye Aap Kahan Jayenge, Rangeela Re, and Sharara Sharara, Asha will turn 93 on September 8, 2026.

Asha Bhosle sang her first film song Chala Chala Nav Bala for the Marathi film Majha Bal in 1943. While she once sang peppy dance numbers such as Piya Tu Ab To Aaja and O Haseena Zulfon Wali, she later showcased her range with ghazals such as Dil Cheez Kya Hai and the classical Tora Man Darpan Kehlaye.

In 2023, Asha Bhosle celebrated her 90th birthday in style. Instead of opting for a close-knit family function at home, she flew across to Dubai to ring in her big day with a live concert.

During a press conference held in Mumbai regarding this event, Asha Bhosle remarked, "Age is merely a number. While one's age may advance, the heart always remains young. Even at this age, I am still standing tall, singing, and continue to cook for my children."
