Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a call from US President Donald Trump. PM Modi and Trump held a phone conversation lasting approximately 40 minutes.

The two leaders reviewed the substantial progress achieved in bilateral cooperation across various sectors and expressed commitment to further strengthening the Comprehensive Global Strategic Partnership in all areas.

They also discussed the situation in West Asia and stressed the importance of keeping the Strait of Hormuz open and secure.

PM Modi wrote on X;

This was the first conversation between the two leaders following the US-Iran ceasefire. US Ambassador Sergio Gor stated that during the phone call, PM Modi told Trump, "The people of India like you." To this, Trump replied, "We all love you."

Sergio Gor stated that PM Modi and US President Trump held discussions regarding the issue of the blockade of the Strait of Hormuz. He also noted that major energy-related agreements between India and the United States are expected to be concluded in the coming days and weeks.

Gor affirmed that the relationship between India and the United States is strong. Cooperation between the two nations is continuously expanding, and they are working together on several key issues.
