Dharmpal Singh, the State General Secretary (Organization) of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), addressed a crucial meeting at the Circuit House in Varanasi on Sunday regarding the preparations for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s proposed program on April 28.
A large number of party workers attended the meeting, including office bearers from the metropolitan and district units, Mandal (block-level) presidents and general secretaries, elected representatives, and district presidents of the Mahila Morcha (Women's Wing). More than 50,000 women are expected to welcome Prime Minister Narendra Modi at this event, which will be held within the BRECA premises.
Entire program would be dedicated exclusively to women's empowerment
During the meeting, it was decided that the entire program would be dedicated exclusively to women's empowerment, and its complete management would be entrusted to the Matrushakti (women power). The meeting involved detailed discussions on the program's framework, a comprehensive public outreach campaign, the allocation of responsibilities down to the booth level, and other logistical arrangements. Office bearers of the Mahila Morcha were exhorted to discharge their duties with discipline, loyalty, and dedication.
Singh stated that, since 2014, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has taken numerous historic steps to ensure the empowerment, self-reliance, and enhanced social and political participation of women. He added that every program undertaken by PM Modi serves as an inspiration for the nation, and this upcoming event in Varanasi will stand as a living testament to the immense potential of women (Nari Samarthya).
Event will send a powerful message
Appealing to the Matrushakti, Dharmpal Singh urged them to engage in the preparations with full organizational efficiency and unwavering dedication, ensuring that this event sends a powerful message across the country—that the women of India are fully capable of assuming leadership roles. He further noted that various schemes launched by the Central Government are being implemented with the specific objective of bolstering women's economic advancement and social dignity.
Anti-women stance of Opposition exposed
Discussions regarding the Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam (Women's Reservation Act) also took place during the meeting. Dharampal Singh stated that this Act was introduced in Parliament to ensure women's political participation; however, the opposition parties opposed it, thereby exposing their anti-women stance.
Event will also underscore govt's commitment: Dilip Patel
Launching a scathing attack on the opposition, BJP Kashi Region President Dilip Patel asserted that the attitude of opposition parties—including the Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Congress—towards women has consistently been negative. He alleged that, through their reaction to the amended form of the 'Nari Shakti Vandan Adhiniyam' (Women's Empowerment Act), the opposition parties have revealed their anti-women mindset.
Dilip Patel informed that, during the event scheduled to be held at the BRECA premises, over 50,000 women will accord a grand welcome to Prime Minister Narendra Modi upon his arrival in Kashi. He added that this event would serve not merely as an occasion for a welcome, but would also underscore the government's commitment to engaging with women and fostering their empowerment. He expressed confidence that, with women taking full charge of organizing the event, it would prove to be a historic occasion and send a positive message across the entire nation.
PM will dedicate projects worth over Rs 6,000 crore
During the event, the Prime Minister will dedicate projects worth over Rs 6,000 crore to the nation and to Kashi, and will also address a public gathering. The final list of projects slated for groundbreaking ceremonies and inaugurations has not yet been finalized.
