US Israel Iran War: On Thursday, the United States carried out an attack on the Tehran residence of Iran's former Foreign Minister, Kamal Kharazi, who also serves as Advisor to Supreme Leader. The attack resulted in the death of his wife, while Kharazi was hospitalized in critical condition.
Kharazi currently serves as the Chairman of Iran's Strategic Foreign Relations Council. This body advises the country's Supreme Leader directly and plays a pivotal role in major foreign policy decisions.
Reports suggest that, in recent days, Kharazi had been engaged in back-channel communications regarding ceasefire negotiations with Pakistan. However, there has been no official confirmation of this as yet.
Earlier, Kharazi had indicated that Iran might be open to indirect talks. Nevertheless, in an interview, he also stated that there was currently no room for diplomacy with the United States.
Attack on 100-Year-Old Medical Research Center in Iran
A 100-year-old medical research center in Iran's capital, Tehran, has come under attack. According to the Ministry of Health, the 'Pasteur Institute of Iran' was targeted, resulting in severe damage to the building.
Ministry of Health spokesperson Hossein Kermianpour described the incident as a direct attack on the global health system. He noted that the institute was established in 1920 and has played a pivotal role in the country's medical research and pharmaceutical development.
Photographs taken after the attack revealed that several sections of the building were severely damaged, while other parts had been reduced to rubble. Iran has strongly condemned the incident, characterizing it as an attack on civilian infrastructure.
