CNG price hiked for fourth time in 2 weeks: Check new price
The price of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) has risen for the fourth time within the last two weeks. Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) hiked the price of CNG by RS 2 per kilogram today, Tuesday, May 26. These price increases have been implemented across several cities, including Delhi-NCR.
Prices Rise by Rs 6 in 11 Days
The previous three price hikes were as follows: Rs 2 on May 15, Re 1 on May 18, and Re 1 on May 23; and today—May 26—prices rose by another Rs 2. In total, prices have increased by Rs 6 over the last 11 days.
Greatest Impact in Delhi-NCR
The impact of the rise in CNG prices is expected to be felt most acutely in the Delhi-NCR region. This is because CNG usage is highest in Delhi-NCR among auto-rickshaws, taxis, school vans, and private cars. According to auto-rickshaw drivers, the recurring hikes in CNG prices are adversely affecting their daily earnings. The continuous rise in fuel prices is feared to place increasing pressure on both transportation costs and household budgets.
In Delhi, the price of CNG has risen from Rs 81.09 per kilogram to Rs 83.09 per kilogram.
In Noida, Ghaziabad, and Greater Noida, consumers will now have to pay Rs 91.70 for CNG.
In Gurugram, the price of CNG has been increased to Rs 88.12 per kilogram.
Oil companies hiked the prices of petrol by Rs 2.61 and diesel by Rs 2.71 per liter on May 25. Following this increase, the price of petrol in Delhi now stands at Rs102.12, and that of diesel at Rs 95.20.
