Madhya Pradesh: What CM Mohan Yadav Said While Travelling on Delhi Metro; Acts on PM Modi’s Call for Greater Use of Public Transport
Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav set an example of simplicity and fuel conservation by travelling on the Delhi Metro for local commute during his visit to the national capital on Thursday.
In view of rising traffic congestion, pollution and the current global situation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has consistently appealed to citizens to reduce fuel consumption and make greater use of public transport and metro services. Taking a positive step in this direction, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav travelled on the Airport Express Line Metro from Shivaji Stadium Metro Station in Delhi.
A symbolic and impactful message
CM Mohan Yadav travelled among ordinary passengers and highlighted the importance of public transport systems. His metro journey became a topic of discussion among citizens, public representatives and administrative circles alike. The initiative is being seen as a symbolic and impactful message, encouraging citizens to make public transport a part of their daily commute, especially when elected representatives and people holding responsible positions are themselves adopting it.
Metro Useful for Reducing Carbon Emissions and Controlling Pollution
Referring to his metro journey, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that modern modes of transport like the metro play an important role not only in saving time but also in protecting the environment. He said that the use of public transport is essential to reduce the growing pressure of vehicles in major cities. This will not only help reduce traffic congestion but also lower carbon emissions.
CM further said that India is rapidly moving towards modern and sustainable development, with transportation systems being made smarter, safer and more environment-friendly.
Praising the Delhi Metro’s management, punctuality and passenger facilities, CM said that similar systems should be expanded in other cities as well. He stated that the expansion of metro train facilities to other major cities in Madhya Pradesh after Bhopal and Indore is part of this broader and well-planned vision. He said that the country is rapidly progressing towards clean energy, green mobility and the Smart Cities Mission.
