Ranchi's Bhavya Ranjan Achieves Remarkable Feat in CBSE-2026 Class 12, Becomes National Topper in Arts Stream with 99.8% Marks
In the Class 12 Board Examination results conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE)-2026, Bhavya Ranjan—a student from Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand—delivered a stellar performance, securing an impressive 99.8 percent marks in the Arts stream. With this achievement, Bhavya has brought glory to her family, her school, and the entire state by emerging as a nationwide topper. Following her success, an atmosphere of celebration was witnessed across the school campus.
Bhavya Ranjan, a student of Oxford Public School in Ranchi, has excelled academically since childhood. She completed her entire schooling—from Class 1 through Class 12—at this very institution. Bhavya attributes her ability to reach this milestone to consistent hard work, the guidance of her teachers, and regular practice. She further shared that her next goal is to prepare for the Civil Services examinations.
‘Target 100’ Program Boosted Confidence
Bhavya also credited her success to the school's special "Target 100" initiative. Launched under the guidance of the school's Academic Director, Dr. Simi Mehta, this program involved providing meritorious students with 100 questions to solve on a daily basis. If students encountered any difficulties with a particular question, their teachers would immediately step in to provide guidance. According to Bhavya, this practice significantly bolstered her self-confidence.
Now, a Dream of Pursuing Higher Studies in History
Bhavya Ranjan is now preparing to pursue her undergraduate and postgraduate studies in History. Concurrently, she is also set to begin her preparation for the UPSC examination. She mentioned that she will also be appearing for the CUET examination scheduled for May 29 and 30. Her dream is to pursue her higher education at prestigious institutions such as the University of Delhi or Banaras Hindu University.
Father Quit Job for Daughter's Education; Mother Took Charg of Her Studies
Bhavya's father, Rajiv Ranjan, shared that he left his job at a major company to provide a more conducive environment for his daughter's education. Meanwhile, her mother, Bikki Gandhi—a teacher by profession—consistently guided Bhavya throughout her academic journey. The family expresses confidence that, just as Bhavya has achieved success in her board examinations, she will similarly hoist the flag of success in the UPSC examination in the future.
Results Improving Due to Students' Hard Work and Proper Guidance
The school's Director, Dr. Simi Mehta, remarked, "The impact of initiatives such as 'Target 100' and 'Holding Hands' is now clearly visible in our results." Over the past two years, the school's academic performance has shown consistent improvement, and its students are now making a name for themselves at the national level.
