Echoing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's call to action, Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath has appealed to the residents of the state to reduce fuel consumption and refrain from unnecessary purchases of gold. 

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath held a high-level meeting with the Chief Secretary, the Director General of Police (DGP), and the Additional Chief Secretaries and Principal Secretaries of all government departments. 

During this meeting, he issued several significant directives regarding fuel conservation. Instructions have been issued to immediately reduce the number of vehicles in the convoys of the Chief Minister and other ministers by 50 percent, effective immediately.

Stress on holding govt meetings, conferences through virtual mediums

The Yogi government has stated that strong emphasis is being placed on conducting government meetings, seminars, conferences, and workshops primarily through virtual mediums. 

Promoting work from home culture

An advisory has been issued to promote a "Work from Home" culture within the state and to implement a two-day-a-week "Work from Home" policy in large institutions. Chief Minister Yogi specifically emphasized the need to increase the usage of the Metro, PNG (Piped Natural Gas), public transport, roadways buses, carpooling, cycling, and electric vehicles (EVs).

Public representatives urged to use public transport

CM Yogi has appealed to ministers, Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of Legislative Assembly (MLAs), and other public representatives to use public transport one day a week. Additionally, he has urged them to observe a ‘No Vehicle Day.’ 

He issued directives to promote the use of school buses in schools and colleges, and to integrate roadways buses into the system whenever necessary. The government has also suggested staggering office timings into different batches to reduce fuel consumption during peak hours.

Curb unnecessary power consumption 

Emphasizing the importance of saving electricity, CM Yogi has issued directives to curb unnecessary power consumption in both government and private institutions. The Chief Minister has appealed to commercial establishments and complexes to minimize the use of decorative lighting after 10:00 PM.

Avoid non-essential foreign travel

The Yogi government has urged citizens to refrain from non-essential foreign travel for the next six months and to instead promote tourism within the country. Chief Minister Yogi also highlighted the need to promote "Destination Weddings," "Heritage Tourism," "Eco-Tourism," and the "Visit My State" campaign within Uttar Pradesh.
