MP: CM Dr. Mohan Yadav Switches to EV for Fuel Conservation and Environmental Protection
Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav took a significant step on Wednesday to demonstrate his commitment to fuel conservation and environmental protection. He travelled from the CM’s Residence to the State Hangar in Bhopal in an Electric Vehicle (EV), replacing the conventional petrol-powered four-wheeler previously used for the journey.
The EV has been inducted into the CM’s short motorcade after successfully meeting all security requirements, undergoing comprehensive feature inspections and completing all necessary procedural formalities. Beginning Wednesday, the vehicle has officially become part of the Chief Minister’s convoy, and M will now regularly use an EV for travel within the State capital, Bhopal.
CM said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has encouraged citizens to maximise fuel conservation and adopt economical and sustainable modes of transportation. He noted that such efforts would contribute significantly to fuel savings across the country and the State. He emphasised that it is the collective responsibility of all citizens to make meaningful contributions towards energy conservation and environmental protection.
CM said that EVs not only help conserve fuel but are also highly beneficial for the environment. These vehicles produce zero tailpipe emissions, generate minimal noise, and have significantly lower operating and maintenance costs compared to conventional fuel-powered vehicles.
CM said that the adoption of electric vehicles promotes fuel conservation, supports environmental sustainability and contributes to a cleaner and greener future for all. It is an important step towards ensuring a cleaner and safer future for coming generations. Increased use of EVs will reduce dependence on conventional fuels, lower pollution levels, and provide fresh momentum to green development in both the State and the country.
