Emphasizing the spirit of cooperation and collective responsibility at all levels of government to achieve the goal of a developed nation, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Thursday that NITI Aayog could play the role of an effective platform for such collaboration.
Youth population a major strength of the country
Describing the youth population as a major strength of the country and a historic opportunity, Modi stressed the need to provide demand-based education and training to the youth to harness this potential. He was addressing the 11th meeting of the Governing Council of NITI Aayog in the capital.
FTAs will create opportunities for different sectors of economy
PM Modi stated that despite global uncertainties, the Indian economy continues to grow at a good pace and remains robust. Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) signed with various countries and blocs will create opportunities for different sectors of the economy, including small and medium enterprises.
In the presence of Chief Ministers and Lieutenant Governors of states and Union Territories, senior ministerial colleagues, and senior officials, PM Modi said, "As India moves towards the resolve of becoming a 'developed nation,' our collective responsibility increases further. Cooperation, dialogue, and the exchange of experiences among states should be the guiding principles."

In this context, he stated that NITI Aayog can play a pivotal role as an effective platform for collaboration, enabling states to exchange ideas and work together towards realizing the goal of a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India).

The Prime Minister described the large proportion of youth in the country's population as a "historic opportunity," adding that "we cannot afford to miss it." He emphasized that creating a conducive environment for the youth through quality education, demand-driven skill development, and employment opportunities must remain a priority. States should prioritize women's education, skill development
He noted that women-led development is a cornerstone of the vision for a developed India. 'Nari Shakti' (women power) is making significant contributions across various sectors, including agriculture, startups, science, and innovation. States should prioritize women's education, skill development, safety, and empowerment to harness their full potential and further accelerate India's growth trajectory.
PM Modi remarked, "The world is currently passing through a phase of uncertainty and instability; yet, India continues to advance on its development journey with confidence and determination."
PM mentioned that the government has entered into Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) with several countries to create new avenues for growth and exports. These agreements also present a significant opportunity for our Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs), enabling them to align with international standards, prepare for global markets, and enhance their competitiveness.
Before the meeting began, the Prime Minister stated in a social media post, "Inspired by the spirit of cooperative federalism, we are all working together to accelerate India's development journey. The joint efforts of the Centre and the states will play a decisive role in realizing our shared resolve for a developed India."
