Raipur: Various parts of Chhattisgarh are expected to experience thunderstorms, lightning strikes, and winds gusting at speeds of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour starting June 4. The Raipur center of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has made this prediction.

According to the IMD, light to moderate rainfall was recorded at isolated places across the state over the past 24 hours. Some locations in North Chhattisgarh also witnessed incidents of thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds and lightning strikes.

As per the IMD, there has been no significant change in the maximum temperatures recorded across the state. Rajnandgaon recorded the highest maximum temperature at 42.0 degrees Celsius, while Pendra Road recorded the lowest minimum temperature at 22.0 degrees Celsius.

According to meteorologists, weather activity in the state is expected to intensify due to the influence of a trough extending from Uttar Pradesh to Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Telangana, and Rayalaseema, as well as an upper-air cyclonic circulation formed over northeastern Uttar Pradesh and surrounding regions.

The department has issued a warning for June 4, alerting to the possibility of thunderstorms, lightning strikes, and strong winds blowing at speeds of 50 to 60 kilometers per hour at various locations across the state. Similar weather conditions are likely to persist in the state for the next two days as well.

The local forecast issued for Raipur city indicates that the sky may remain partly cloudy on June 4, with a possibility of rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms. The city's maximum temperature is expected to hover around 41 degrees Celsius, while the minimum temperature is estimated to be around 28 degrees Celsius.
