Following the INDIA alliance meeting held at Delhi's Constitution Club on Monday, the BJP has issued a response.

Taking a dig at the INDIA alliance, the BJP remarked that it was not votes that were stolen, but rather the "very existence of the opposition parties" that was stolen.

BJP MP Sambit Patra said at a press conference, "A meeting took place today, and Mallikarjun Kharge claimed that EVMs were manipulated and votes were stolen. EVMs were used in Kerala and Tamil Nadu as well; yet, in Tamil Nadu, you formed a government with another party. There, it was the ally itself that got 'stolen'."

Patra added, "They aren't blaming EVMs after the government formed in Kerala, but they blame EVMs when they lose in Bengal. The country is witnessing the height of this hypocrisy. If anything has truly been stolen, it is the existence of the opposition alliance; today, none of these parties hold any real ground-level presence."

Earlier, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav had stated that the BJP would lose if fair elections were conducted.

He said, "If elections were held using ballot papers, the BJP wouldn't stand a chance."

Next meeting in Hyderabad in Aug: Kharge

Meanwhile, Mallikarjun Kharge stated that the participating parties have agreed to hold meetings of the INDIA alliance every two months.

Kharge said, "The next meeting of the INDIA alliance parties will be held in Hyderabad in August."

Mallikarjun Kharge did not specify the date for the August meeting; he stated that the exact day would be decided later.

It is noteworthy that several prominent leaders of the INDIA alliance have appeared together for the first time since the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
