How Madhya Pradesh Will Promote Tribal Culture, Natural Farming, Local Products and Rural Innovation: CM Mohan Yadav Interacts with Social Media Influencers in Alirajpur
Madhya Pradesh CM Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the birthplace of Amar Shaheed Chandrashekhar Azad has brought pride not only to state but to the entire nation. Describing his visit to Chandrashekhar Azad Nagar (a town and tehsil located about 40 kilometers away from Alirajpur), on the occasion of the revolutionary's 120th birth anniversary, as a matter of pride and privilege, he said that Alirajpur has a unique identity owing to its rich tribal culture, folk traditions, languages and dialects, natural farming, natural resources and forest produce.
The CM said that the State Government is committed to preserving and promoting tribal culture, traditions and folk arts, and will make special efforts to secure national and international recognition for the region's rich artistic and cultural heritage. He also announced that Alirajpur district will be developed as a leading district in every sector. Dr. Yadav was addressing the Social Media Influencers' Interaction Programme, organised as part of the Balram Krishi Mahotsav at Chandrashekhar Azad Nagar recently.
Dr. Yadav interacted with young social media influencers from Alirajpur, Barwani, Dhar, Jhabua, Ratlam and other districts who are engaged in promoting agriculture, tribal culture, rural development and social awareness through digital platforms. The Chief Minister encouraged influencers to create impactful digital content on agriculture, natural farming, tribal culture, tourism, local products and rural innovation. He said that social media can effectively showcase Madhya Pradesh's positive image, farmers' success stories, the rich cultural heritage of tribal communities and local products to audiences across the country and the world.
During the interaction, influencer Chandrabhan Singh Bhadauria suggested strengthening the marketing system for forest produce, while Kadusingh Singh requested that urad (black gram) be accorded a Geographical Indication (GI) tag.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that urad is one of the State's major crops and that the Government is encouraging its cultivation by providing an incentive of Rs 600 per quintal to farmers. He assured that necessary efforts would be made to secure a GI tag for the crop.
Bhagoria Festival an integral part of Madhya Pradesh's rich cultural heritage
CM Mohan Yadav said that the traditional Bhagoria Festival of the tribal communities is an integral part of Madhya Pradesh's rich cultural heritage. The State Government is making serious efforts to secure national and international recognition for the festival so that the rich cultural legacy of tribal communities receives global appreciation. He reiterated that the traditions, culture and folk arts of tribal communities are invaluable heritage, and the State Government is fully committed to their preservation and promotion.
Chief Minister, responding to a question from Priyanka Tomar on women's empowerment, said that the State Government is implementing several flagship schemes, including the Ladli Behna Yojana and Ladli Laxmi Yojana, for the holistic development of women.
Cabinet meetings would be organised in tribal as well as other regions
Replying to a suggestion by Tushar Paliwal regarding holding Cabinet meetings in tribal regions, CM said that Cabinet meetings would be organised in tribal as well as other regions of the State. These meetings would help promote local products and facilitate important decisions based on local development priorities. He said the Government's objective is to ensure equal participation of every region and every section of society in the State's development. The Chief Minister appreciated the song by Rajendra Basunia based on tribal culture.
Dr. Yadav announced that the State Government will formulate special schemes to preserve and promote tribal talent, folk arts and cultural heritage.
Social media influencer Ashish Pandey presented the Chief Minister with a portrait, while Sakshi Bhayadia presented him with a painting based on the traditional Pithora art form. The Chief Minister appreciatwed the artworks and emphasised the need to preserve indigenous art forms and said that special efforts would be made to secure national and international recognition for traditional tribal art forms such as Pithora painting.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav also honoured and presented awards to social media influencers Rajendra Basunia, Priyanka Tomar, Sakshi Bhayadia, Bharat Sastiya and Ritesh Rathore for their outstanding contributions.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav posed for a group photograph with the participants and urged them to create engaging reels, videos and digital content highlighting the State Government's welfare initiatives and farmer-centric schemes so that more farmers, youth and citizens can benefit from them.
