Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will inaugurate the Indore–Abu Dhabi international flight service on Wednesday, July 15, in Indore. This will be the first international flight service funded under the Madhya Pradesh Civil Aviation Policy-2025

The new service will provide direct air connectivity between Indore, the commercial capital of Madhya Pradesh, and Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE). Operated by Air India Express, the airline of the Tata Group, the flight will operate four days a week—Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday.

New direct flight will reduce the journey time

The launch of the Indore–Abu Dhabi service will benefit a large population in the Malwa-Nimar region. At present, passengers travelling on this route are required to transit through Delhi or Mumbai, resulting in a travel time of around 7 to 8 hours. The new direct flight will reduce the journey time to approximately 3 hours and 15 minutes, providing a significant boost to trade, investment, tourism and industrial activities.

Eight new air routes have been approved

The State Government is continuously expanding air connectivity across Madhya Pradesh through the Madhya Pradesh Civil Aviation Policy-2025. Under the policy, eight new air routes have been approved so far, of which four are already operational, while services on the remaining routes will commence shortly.

The launch of the Indore–Abu Dhabi flight reflects the effectiveness of the State's Civil Aviation Policy and the growing confidence of airlines in Madhya Pradesh. It is also expected to pave the way for the expansion of additional domestic and international air routes in the future.

Civil Aviation Policy Strengthening the State's Aviation Ecosystem

To strengthen the aviation ecosystem in Madhya Pradesh, the Madhya Pradesh Civil Aviation Policy-2025 provides Viability Gap Funding (VGF) of up to Rs 10 lakh for the development of new domestic air routes and up to Rs 15 lakh for international routes. The policy also provides for an effective 1 per cent VAT on Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF) for aircraft undertaking overnight parking at airports in the state.
