Is all not well in Mohan government? Kailash Vijayvargiya’s letter to CM sparks a political stir
Madhya Pradesh: Is all not well in Mohan government? Kailash Vijayvargiya’s letter to the CM sparks a political stir
Allegations of ‘neglect and non-cooperation’ for two and a half years
Letter written to the Chief Minister regarding the sidelining of Indore
Raised several major issues ranging from the Master Plan to the airport
Warned of raising the issue on a public platform
Internal BJP turmoil intensifies following the letter's leak
Political activity in Madhya Pradesh heated up when a letter addressed to Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav by senior state minister and prominent BJP leader Kailash Vijayvargiya became public. This letter has cast doubt on claims that all is well within the government.
The biggest question is: why does a senior minister have to resort to writing a letter to convey a message to his own government and Chief Minister? And if so, does this indicate a lack of administrative coordination, or are internal rifts deepening?
In the letter, Vijayvargiya stated unequivocally that for the past two and a half years, he has faced nothing but neglect, non-cooperation, and opposition. He also noted that several critical issues concerning Indore's interests remain pending, with the government failing to take the necessary decisions.
Allegations of sidelining Indore
In his letter, Kailash Vijayvargiya first raised the issue of the Indore Master Plan.
He points out that—
The Master Plan was sent to the Chief Minister's Office two years ago.
Multiple meetings have been held, including at the Chief Secretary level.
Discussions took place at the departmental level as well.
Despite this, final approval has not been granted to date.
He also mentioned that he had written about this matter previously, but received neither a response nor a concrete decision.
Objection regarding the 'Metropolitan Region' name
Vijayvargiya also questioned the naming of the Ujjain-Indore Metropolitan Region in the letter.
His argument is that—
Since the entire region is primarily centered around Indore...
...it should have been named simply the 'Indore Metropolitan Region'.
The notification diminished Indore's identity and significance.
Indore overlooked in RGPV restructuring
The letter also expressed dissatisfaction regarding the proposed restructuring of Rajiv Gandhi Proudyogiki Vishwavidyalaya (RGPV).
Vijayvargiya stated—
Proposals for new units were made for Bhopal, Ujjain, and Jabalpur.
However, Indore was not included in this plan.
This is despite the fact that Indore is home to over 50 engineering colleges, including prestigious institutions like SGSITS.
Allegations of neglecting Pithampur industries
Kailash Vijayvargiya also raised the issue of Pithampur, one of the state's largest industrial areas.
He noted—
There are over 650 MSME units here.
More than 176 large-scale industries are operational.
Despite this, no national-level testing lab or product certification center has been established so far.
Meanwhile, facilities are being rapidly developed in newer industrial areas.
Dissatisfaction regarding the airport and Simhastha
The letter also prominently highlighted the issue of Indore airport's expansion.
Vijayvargiya alleged that—
The land required for the airport expansion was not made available.
Indore did not receive due importance in development works related to the Simhastha mega-event.
The city was not granted any special relief even during the water crisis.
'Forced to raise issues on a public platform'
The final paragraph is considered the most politically significant part of the letter. Vijayvargiya clearly stated that if these issues remain unresolved, he would be compelled to raise the matter on a public platform in the interest of Indore's citizens. In political circles, this statement is being viewed as a warning intended to exert public pressure on the government.
What did Vijayvargiya say about the letter leak?
When the media questioned him about the letter, Kailash Vijayvargiya described it as an internal party matter. He said—
Discussions regarding this issue are ongoing within the party.
He does not wish to make a public comment at this stage.
He is also unaware of how the letter reached the media.
What are the political implications?
According to political analysts, this matter is not limited solely to the development of Indore. This letter raises several questions—
Is there a lack of coordination within the Mohan government?
Are there differing views within the BJP regarding Indore?
Is the discontent among senior leaders now surfacing openly?
Could this issue evolve into a major controversy in state politics in the near future?
For now, however, the BJP is describing this as an internal organizational matter. The letter written by Kailash Vijayvargiya to Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has sparked a new round of discussion in Madhya Pradesh politics. The questions raised regarding issues such as Indore's development, the master plan, the metropolitan region, RGPV, Pithampur, airport expansion, and Simhasth have ignited a debate concerning communication and coordination within the government.
All eyes will now be on how the government addresses these grievances and whether this dispute remains merely an administrative issue or eventually takes a political turn.
