MP: Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav will perform the Bhoomi Poojan for the new manufacturing Unit of LiuGong India Private Limited on Wednesday, July 8, at the Pithampur Industrial Area in Dhar district.

The expansion by the Indian subsidiary of Guangxi LiuGong Machinery Co. Ltd., one of China's leading multinational construction equipment manufacturers, marks a significant step towards establishing Madhya Pradesh as a major hub for construction equipment manufacturing.

The new manufacturing facility at Pithampur will be developed over approximately 20 acres with an investment of around Rs 272 Crores. In its initial phase, the plant will have an annual production capacity of 6,500 construction equipment units, primarily excavators. The project is expected to strengthen domestic manufacturing, reduce dependence on imports, and generate new employment opportunities in the region.

World's leading construction equipment manufacturer

LiuGong is among the world's leading construction equipment manufacturers and is globally recognised as a leading producer of wheel loaders. The company manufactures a wide range of equipment, including wheel loaders, excavators, motor graders, mining dump trucks, bulldozers, skid-steer loaders, forklifts, cold planers, and other advanced construction and mining machinery.

Existing plant has an annual production capacity of 3,000 wheel loaders

The company has been operating its manufacturing facility at Pithampur since 2008. Spread across more than 44 acres, the existing plant has an annual production capacity of 3,000 wheel loaders and motor graders. In 2009, the facility produced India's first Made-in-India wheel loader.

The Pithampur unit also houses a Research & Development Centre and a Training Centre, where more than 500 Indian professionals are employed. The facility has been making a significant contribution to the objectives of the Make in India and Aatmanirbhar Bharat initiatives.

New facility will help meet growing demand for construction equipment

More than 4,000 LiuGong construction equipment units are currently deployed across the country in road construction, mining, hydropower, pipeline and other infrastructure projects. The proposed new manufacturing facility at Pithampur will help meet the growing demand for construction equipment while providing fresh momentum to Madhya Pradesh's industrial growth.

Under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Yadav, the State Government is continuously working to transform Madhya Pradesh into the country's leading industrial investment destination through an industry-friendly ecosystem, world-class industrial infrastructure, simplified procedures, and investor-centric policies. The expansion of LiuGong India will stand as yet another testament to global investors' growing confidence in Madhya Pradesh.
