Sehore District in Madhya Pradesh has achieved a significant milestone with the selection of the Government Middle School, Mahuakhedi Takipur, for the national-level 'Clean and Green School Rating' (SHVR) 2025-26, an initiative of the Ministry of Education, Government of India.
This achievement is the result of the school's outstanding work in areas such as cleanliness, safe drinking water, water conservation, waste management, energy efficiency, the development of a green campus, and environmental protection. By demonstrating remarkable performance in these sectors, the school has carved a niche for itself at the national level—a matter of pride for both the district and the state.
Congratulating the school community, teachers, and students on this achievement, Collector Balaguru K. stated that this honor is the outcome of collective efforts to develop schools that offer quality education while maintaining clean and eco-friendly environments. He remarked that this success would serve as an inspiration for other schools in the district, encouraging them to excel in creating clean and green surroundings.
A clean and green environment in schools is essential for the holistic development of students
Zila Panchayat CEO Sarjana Yadav emphasized that creating a clean and green environment in schools is essential for the holistic development of students. The selection of a school from the district at the national level stands as a testament to the success of the efforts being made in this direction. Extending her best wishes to the school management, teachers, and students, she expressed hope that they would continue to deliver excellent performance in the future.
Selected school would continue to receive necessary support
District Project Coordinator (DPC) Rameshram Uike stated that, in accordance with the directives of the State Education Centre, the selected school would continue to receive necessary technical and institutional support. Furthermore, the school's best practices, innovations, and success stories will be documented and shared with other schools, enabling more schools in the district to effectively adopt the 'Clean and Green School' concept and establish their own identity at the national level.
Lighthouse Schools for other schools
According to the letter issued by the State Education Centre, the selected schools will be awarded a 'Certificate of Merit'. Additionally, to further strengthen the clean and green initiatives of the schools, facilities such as incentive grants and educational exposure visits will be provided, enabling these schools to be developed as "Lighthouse Schools" for other schools.
