PM Modi extends best wishes to Indian contingent for Commonwealth Games Glasgow 2026; Indian athletes will fly Tricolour high, says MP CM Mohan Yadav
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today extended his best wishes to the Indian contingent as the Commonwealth Games Glasgow 2026 begin.
The 23rd Commonwealth Games are being held in Glasgow, Scotland, from July 23 to August 2, 2026. Indian athletes are competing in athletics, boxing, judo, weightlifting and several para-sports events.
PM Modi expressed confidence that the athletes will participate in the Games with passion, determination, and a spirit of excellence.
The Prime Minister noted that the skills and dedication of the athletes always inspire countless Indians.
In a post on X, the Prime Minister shared:

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav extended his best wishes to all Indian athletes representing the country at the 23rd Commonwealth Games. In his message, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that athletes would uphold India's pride on the global stage through their outstanding performances, talent, discipline and tireless dedication. He said the aspirations and blessings of 1.4 billion Indians are with the contingent.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said India's champions are fully prepared to enhance the nation's prestige and ensure the Tricolour flies high at the Glasgow Commonwealth Games. He said that India is represented by a contingent of 126 athletes competing in 13 sports disciplines and 113 events.
