Rain expected over next 4 days in Madhya Pradesh; two weather systems active, check IMD predictions
Bhopal: The monsoon has become active once again in Madhya Pradesh. The Meteorological Department has issued a warning for extremely heavy rainfall in Shahdol, Anuppur, Dindori, Mandla, and Balaghat districts over the next 24 hours; these districts could receive four inches or more of rain. Meanwhile, most districts—including the capital Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Ujjain, and Gwalior—will remain cloudy and experience spells of light to moderate rain.
Heavy rainfall to continue in several districts
According to the India Meteorological Department (IMD), heavy rainfall is expected to persist across several districts of the state for the next four days. This is due to the influence of the monsoon trough, an active wind shear zone, and low-pressure areas formed over the eastern and western parts of the state. Continuous rainfall activity across the state is being driven by these very weather systems.
Rainfall deficit narrows
Rainfall over the past few days has slightly narrowed the rainfall deficit in the state. While the state had recorded 17 percent less rainfall than normal up to July 20, this gap has since narrowed to approximately 11 percent. However, the state still lags behind the average rainfall. So far, the state has recorded about 330.4 mm of rainfall, whereas it should have received 370.9 mm by this time. A deficit of 15 percent below normal has been recorded in Eastern MP, and 8 percent in Western MP.

Light to moderate rain is expected over the next 24 hours in several districts, including Bhopal, Raisen, Sehore, Rajgarh, Vidisha, Indore, Dhar, Jhabua, Alirajpur, Khargone, Khandwa, Barwani, Ujjain, Dewas, Ratlam, Mandsaur, Neemuch, Narmadapuram, Betul, Harda, Gwalior, Morena, Bhind, Datia, Shivpuri, Guna, Ashoknagar, Jabalpur, Katni, Narsinghpur, and Chhindwara. Meanwhile, light to heavy rainfall is likely in Pandhurna, Seoni, Balaghat, Mandla, Dindori, Rewa, Satna, Sidhi, Singrauli, Mauganj, Maihar, Shahdol, Umaria, Anuppur, Sagar, Panna, Damoh, Chhatarpur, Tikamgarh, and Niwari.
