Spain's Submer Group will establish an AI-ready data centre in Madhya Pradesh with an investment of USD 2 billion (approximately Rs 19,000 crore).
Addressing the MP Tech Growth Conclave 3.0 in Bhopal on Monday, Submer India Private Limited CEO Patrick Smets said that under the leadership of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Madhya Pradesh has emerged as a strong hub for strategic partnerships between India and global industries.
Smets said the MP Tech Growth Conclave is not merely a platform for attracting investments but also reflects the State Government's long-term vision for technology-led development. He added that the positive discussions held and investment agreements reached with CM Dr. Yadav in Barcelona, Spain, in July 2025 have resulted in sustained growth of investments in artificial intelligence, data centres and the IT sector in Madhya Pradesh.
The Submer CEO, Smets, informed that within just six days of submitting the first application for land allocation, the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) issued consent on 12 July 2026 for the allotment of 60,619.30 square metres of land in the Hajjamapura Industrial Area, Bhopal. The land will be allotted on a 99-year lease.
The proposed data centre is expected to generate around 5,000 direct employment opportunities. Smets said the investment reflects growing confidence among global investors in Madhya Pradesh and demonstrates the state's efficient, responsive and investor-friendly governance.
