CM Mohan Yadav Inaugurates India's First Virtual Zoo in Indore; Offering Visitors a New-Age Wildlife Experience
Indore: Visitors to Indore now have a novel way to explore the wilderness and wildlife without actually venturing into the forest. On Sunday, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav inaugurated the country's first virtual zoo, along with a 14-D cinema theatre and a virtual jungle safari, at the Indore Zoological Museum. Developed at a cost of ₹4.5 crore under a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, these new facilities blend entertainment, education, and immersive technology.
The virtual jungle safari is the primary attraction for visitors, offering an experience that allows them to tour the forest and encounter wildlife through advanced digital technology. Visitors can view the virtual forest environment, learn about animals and their habitats, and experience the thrill of a safari in an interactive setting.
Another major highlight is the 14-D cinema theatre, where audiences enjoy films through a combination of high-definition visuals, motion effects, and other sensory experiences. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav watched films alongside ministers and schoolchildren, describing the experience as extraordinary.
Visitors can also enjoy the sight of colorful fish in the aquarium and view the newly installed fountains, which further enhance the museum's beauty. These facilities have been specifically designed to make learning about wildlife and nature more engaging for children, families, and tourists alike.
Dr. Yadav remarked that Indore is setting new benchmarks for innovation and development. He expressed confidence that the virtual jungle safari would become a major attraction for the public while also generating revenue for the Municipal Corporation. Created through a blend of technology, wildlife education, and entertainment, this new facility offers Indore yet another unique attraction—a place where visitors can see, experience, and learn about the world of the forest and wildlife in an entirely new way.
