National Sports Day 2026: 'Khelo India Samvad': PM Modi to Address Youth; Events to be Held at Two Colleges in MP's Sagar
To mark National Sports Day 2026, the 'Khelo India Samvad – Khel ki Baat PM ke Saath' (Khelo India Dialogue – A Conversation on Sports with the PM) program will be organized across the country on August 27, 2026. This event aims to familiarize the youth with the transformations taking place in the sports sector, modern sports infrastructure, and their own role in nation-building.
While National Sports Day is traditionally celebrated annually on the birth anniversary of the legendary hockey player Major Dhyan Chand, this year, the programs are being organized on a large scale on August 27.
The highlight of the event will be a virtual address by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, which will be watched live by youth and students across the nation. PM Modi will share his thoughts on sports, fitness, youth leadership, and the role of the youth in building a 'Viksit Bharat' (Developed India).
In Sagar district, the program will be held at Infinity Management College, Sagar, and PM Excellence College, Makronia. Dr. Lata Wankhede, Member of Parliament (MP) for the Sagar constituency, will attend the event at Infinity Management College as the chief guest and address the youth.
Following the Prime Minister's address, a dialogue session will be held with local sports talents and youth icons, focusing on sports development and preparations for the upcoming Olympic and Commonwealth Games.
Subsequently, students will share their thoughts, suggestions, and aspirations through a 'Yuva Samvad' (Youth Dialogue) session. With the active participation of 'MY Bharat' volunteers, the youth will also be encouraged to register on the portal. The program will conclude with the National Anthem.
