Raja Bhoj National Sailing Championship-2026: Madhya Pradesh sailors put up stellar performance on Bhopal's lakes; Samriddhi and Parth emerged victorious
Sailors from Madhya Pradesh have delivered outstanding performances, securing top positions across various categories at the 3rd Raja Bhoj Multiclass National Sailing Championship-2026, currently underway at the Boat Club on Bhopal's Upper Lake.
Athletes from across the country are showcasing their technique, balance, speed, and strategic skills in this national ranking competition. Approximately 100 national and international-level athletes from 12 states are participating in this event, which runs from August 10 to 16.
Samriddhi and Parth Lead in 420 MIX
In the 420 MIX category, the duo of Samriddhi Batham and Parth Singh Chauhan from NSS Bhopal secured first place in both races, displaying excellent coordination, balance, and strategic prowess. With consistently strong performances across both races, the pair earned 2 net points to claim the top spot in the category.
Meanwhile, the NSS Bhopal duo of Eklavya Batham and Vanshika Sikarwar also performed impressively, securing second place with 4 net points. The performance of both teams highlighted the strong preparation and competitive capability of Madhya Pradesh's sailors in this category.
Shagun and Aparna Triumph in 29ER Girls
In the 29ER Girls category, Shagun Jha and Aparna Chaudhary from NSS Bhopal claimed the top spot by finishing first in both races.
In the 29ER category, Shovanya Jodha and Hriday Joshi from NYSC secured first place. Rudresh Singh Patel and Mayank Rajput from NSS finished second, while MD Rizwan and Shivam Valmiki from NYSC took third place.
MP Sailors Dominate in Techno Category
In the Techno Boys U-15 category, Ankit Vishwakarma from NSS Bhopal secured first place, and Ayan Khan from MPYA took second. In the Boys U-17 category, Soham Yogesh Rajput from NSS Bhopal finished first, Swastik Gautam second, and Aran Malik from EMESC Bhopal third.
In the Girls U-15 category, Ananya Awadhiya from NSS Bhopal secured first place, and Vipasa Singh took second. In the Girls' U-17 category, Priyanshi M. Patil (YAM) secured first place, while Tejasvi Prajapati (NSS Bhopal) finished second.
Around 100 athletes from 12 states are participating
Organized by the Department of Sports and Youth Welfare, Madhya Pradesh, this competition is being held from August 10 to 16 at the Water Sports Center located at the Upper Lake Boat Club. Approximately 100 national and international-level athletes from 12 states and various prestigious clubs across the country are participating in the event. The competition is being conducted under the technical guidance of the Yachting Association of India (YAI).

Bhopal's natural conditions are conducive to water sports such as sailing, rowing, kayaking, and canoeing.
The Madhya Pradesh team also delivered an outstanding performance at the 2025 Raja Bhoj Multiclass Sailing Championship, winning 16 medals—8 gold, 5 silver, and 3 bronze. .
CM to preside over the closing and prize distribution ceremony
The closing and prize distribution ceremony of the Raja Bhoj Multiclass National Sailing Championship will take place on August 16, with Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav as the chief guest. Awards and honors will be presented to athletes who have excelled in various categories.
