Khushi Dabhade, a fencer from Madhya Pradesh, delivered an outstanding performance at the international level by winning the silver medal in the Women's Épée Individual event at the Senior Commonwealth Fencing Championship 2026, held in Nigeria. The competition is being organized in Nigeria from August 9 to 14, 2026. Khushi Dabhade is an athlete from the Madhya Pradesh State Fencing Academy in Bhopal. Her achievement has brought pride to both the state and the nation.

This silver medal won by Khushi Dabhade is the result of her consistently excellent performance. Earlier this year, in May 2026, she represented India at the Épée Women's World Cup Fencing Championship held in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, France. Additionally, she has represented India at the FIE Épée Grand Prix 21/22 in Cairo, Egypt; the FIE Senior Épée World Cup in Kazan, Russia (2021); and the Senior Asian Championship in Seoul, South Korea (2022).
Has also won medals at the National Games
Khushi Dabhade has proven her mettle at the national level. She won a bronze medal in the women's épée team event at the 37th National Games (Goa 2023) and secured third place in the épée team event at the Khelo India University Games 2023. Additionally, she has won medals at the 30th and 32nd Senior National Fencing Championships.
Talent honed at the Madhya Pradesh Fencing Academy
Hailing from an ordinary family in Madhya Pradesh, Khushi Dabhade gave a new direction to her sporting journey at the Madhya Pradesh State Fencing Academy, located at T.T. Nagar Stadium, Bhopal. Currently, she is refining her skills under the guidance and training of Head Coach Bhupendra Singh.
Her parents—Shri Babarao Dabhade and her mother, Smt. Vidya Dabhade (a staff nurse)—have played a pivotal role in supporting her sporting journey. Her family's constant encouragement, combined with her own hard work, has propelled her to the international level. Today, her success serves as an inspiration for the daughters of Madhya Pradesh.
