Youth-Led Grand Tiranga Yatra to Be Organised on August 9: CM Mohan Yadav

MP Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that August is the month of India's Independence celebrations. He called upon citizens to celebrate Independence Day with enthusiasm and directed that August 9 be observed as August Kranti Diwas


The CM said that a grand Tiranga Yatra should be organised in Bhopal with active participation of citizens and youth. He said that the yatra would serve as a medium to inspire people to safeguard the nation's hard-earned freedom and strengthen the spirit of patriotism.


CM Dr. Yadav was reviewing the schemes and field activities of the Sports and Youth Welfare Department at the State Shooting Academy on Monday. He said that athletes from Madhya Pradesh are bringing laurels to the State through their outstanding performances in national and international competitions. 


CM Calls for Greater Focus on Athletes Nutrition, Training and Sports Infra


CM directed that the rules governing incentives and awards for medal winners in the Olympic Games and other international sporting events be finalised at the earliest. He also instructed that suitable arrangements be made for providing government employment and financial incentives to such athletes. 


Dedicated Mallakhamb and Gymnastics Academies to be established 


The Chief Minister further directed that dedicated Mallakhamb and Gymnastics Academies be established in the State at the earliest so that athletes in both disciplines have access to all required facilities at a single location.


Sports Complexes to Come Up at All Sandipani Schools


Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that adequate land is available at all Sandipani Schools across the State. He directed officials to explore how to develop sports complexes on available land adjoining these schools. 


Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Vishwas Sarang informed that five athletes from Madhya Pradesh represented India at the recently concluded Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, of whom two won medals and brought laurels to the State. He further informed that the Sports Department is making efforts to organise sporting activities at stadiums under the control of urban local bodies. 


Multi-sports complex is being developed at Malthone


Sarang said multi-sports complex is being developed at Malthone in Sagar district, and the Department is also planning to engage seven subject experts and consultants under the proposed PMU to accelerate the development of international-standard sports infrastructure across the State.
