Impressive Performance by MP Athletes at National Youth Athletics Championship 2026
Athletes from the Madhya Pradesh State Athletics Academy have brought glory to the state with their outstanding performances at the 21st National Youth Athletics Championship 2026, held at Guru Nanak Stadium in Ludhiana, Punjab, from September 1 to 3, 2026. So far, the academy's athletes have secured two gold medals and one bronze medal in the competition. Notably, Krishna Chandra achieved a significant milestone by winning the gold medal in the javelin throw while setting a new meet record.
Krishna Chandra Sets New Meet Record in Javelin Throw
In the boys' javelin throw event held on Wednesday evening, Krishna Chandra from the Madhya Pradesh State Athletics Academy won the gold medal with a throw of 79.92 meters. With this feat, he also established a new meet record for the competition.
Prior to Krishna Chandra's stellar performance, the meet record for this event stood at 77.41 meters, set by Rohit Yadav in 2018. By achieving a distance of 79.92 meters, Krishna Chandra surpassed the old record and demonstrated his impressive talent on the national stage.
Nagar Singh Kanesh Wins Gold in Heptathlon
In the heptathlon event, the academy's athlete Nagar Singh Kanesh won the gold medal with an impressive score of 4812 points. Nagar Singh secured the top spot through consistently excellent performances across the various disciplines of the event, bringing golden success to Madhya Pradesh.
Ranglal Dodiya Wins Bronze in 1000m
Meanwhile, in the 1000-meter event, the academy's athlete Ranglal Dodiya secured the bronze medal with an impressive time of 2 minutes 26.83 seconds. Ranglal claimed third place in the event thanks to his speed and powerful performance.
