Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually flagged off the new passenger train service between Tanda Road Station in Dhar district, Madhya Pradesh, and Vadodara at an event held in Vadodara on Tuesday. He also laid the foundation stone for the construction of the third and fourth railway lines between Vadodara and Ratlam.
This is a historic day for Dhar district, which has been awaiting rail connectivity since independence. However, there is a significant caveat to this achievement: while the train is reaching Dhar district, it is not reaching Dhar city itself. Even with the rail line extending to Tanda Road, the district headquarters of Dhar must still wait for its first passenger train
Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav expressed gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for launching a new passenger train service between Tanda Road Station in Dhar district and Vadodara and introducing four freight train services on the Dedicated Freight Corridor (DFC) network.
CM Dr. Mohan Yadav said in a post on X, that the new services would enhance passenger and freight transportation capacity while reducing congestion and other bottlenecks on the railway network. He said that the initiative would further strengthen freight connectivity between Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh. The enhanced rail connectivity will provide a fresh impetus to industry, trade and tourism and play an important role in the overall development
CM said PM Modi has been working continuously to expand public facilities across various modes of transport. On behalf of the people of Madhya Pradesh, he expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Modi and Union Railway Minister Shri Vaishnaw for this important initiative.
