PM Modi's birthday: 25 lakh lamps will be lit in three minutes in Ujjainn in Madhya Pradesh, see what preparations other states have nade?
PM Modi turned 76 on Thursday. To mark the occasion, 'Aashirwad ke Diye' (Lamps of Blessings) will be lit across the country between 6 PM and 7 PM. BJP leader Nitin Nabin had appealed to citizens to light lamps outside their homes.
In Madhya Pradesh, 25 lakh lamps will be lit in three minutes in Ujjain; 26,000 people will illuminate the banks of the Kshipra River.
Preparation are in place to light a total of 58 lakh lamps in MP. In Ujjain alone, over 25 lakh lamps will be lit. In each designated block, 225 lamps will be arranged. Only two volunteers will be assigned to light them; each volunteer will have to light approximately 112 lamps. Together, they must light all the lamps in a block in just three minutes. At this pace, lamps will simultaneously illuminate various ghats along the Kshipra River.
Preparations are underway to light 36 lakh lamps in Chhattisgarh, 79.52 lakh in Haryana, and 70 lakh in West Bengal.
On the evening of September 17, more than 10 ghats along the Hooghly River will be illuminated. The administration has procured 8,50,000 lamps for this purpose. Among these, one lakh earthen lamps will be lit at the Baja Kadamtal Ghat alone.
The Haryana government will provide two lamps free of cost to 'Antyodaya' families (families belonging to the poorest sections) in the state.
Additionally, two bike rallies covering a distance of approximately 1,300 km will be organized between Vadnagar (Modi's birthplace) and Varanasi (his parliamentary constituency).
One rally will travel from Vadnagar to Varanasi, while another will set out from Varanasi to Vadnagar on the same day. Around 1,000 youths across 10 states and 193 districts will participate in these rallies. The journey will conclude on October 7.
