Siemens Energy India to set up large power transformer manufacturing unit in Madhya Pradesh; over 1,500 people to get employment
Madhya Pradesh has achieved a significant milestone in the field of energy equipment manufacturing. On Tuesday, Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav handed over a Letter of Intent (LoI) for 60.49 acres of land at Vikram Udyogpuri Phase-2 in Ujjain to Siemens Energy India Limited at the Mantralaya.
Siemens has proposed an investment of approximately ₹2,053 crore to manufacture high-capacity power transformers at this site. The establishment of this unit will generate employment for over 1,500 people.
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav handed over the LoI to Siemens Energy India Limited’s Managing Director and CEO, Guilherme Mendonca; Chief Financial Officer, Harish Shekhar; and Head of Real Estate, Puneet Bansal. Chandramouli Shukla, Managing Director of the Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation Limited, was also present.
Speaking on the occasion, CM Mohan Yadav stated that Madhya Pradesh is rapidly emerging as a leading investment destination in the country due to industry-friendly policies, excellent connectivity, and available land bank, world-class industrial infrastructure, and an investor-friendly environment.
He said the state government is committed to providing all possible support for the speedy implementation of industrial investments and for job creation. He remarked that the company's proposed project is a significant step towards establishing Madhya Pradesh as a hub for energy equipment and power infrastructure manufacturing. This investment will provide fresh momentum to advanced manufacturing, industrial development, and the creation of skilled employment within the state.
