Tata Aeris: Tata Aeris makes a spectacular entry at ₹5.29 lakh; set to challenge Dzire and Aura with 6 airbags and premium features
Tata Motors has launched the new Aeris sub-compact sedan in the Indian market, with prices starting at ₹5.29 lakh (ex-showroom). Replacing the Tata Tigor for private buyers, the Aeris features a new design, modern technology, comfort-oriented features, and a strong emphasis on safety. The Tigor will continue to be sold in the commercial vehicle segment under the 'Xpres' brand.
The Aeris is available in five trims: Smart, Pure, Pure+, Creative, and Accomplished. Buyers can choose between a 1.2-litre three-cylinder petrol engine (86 hp) and a factory-fitted twin-cylinder iCNG version (76 hp on CNG). Both engines offer the option of either a 5-speed manual or an AMT transmission.
Inside, the sedan features a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other features include a digital instrument cluster, wireless phone charging, ventilated front seats, rear AC vents, and a two-spoke steering wheel.
Safety has also been a key focus. Six airbags come as standard across all variants, while higher trims offer a 360-degree camera and blind-spot monitoring. The car also includes tyre pressure monitoring, ISOFIX child-seat mounts, and a dashcam recorder.
Prices for the petrol version start at ₹5.29 lakh, while the iCNG variant starts at ₹6.29 lakh. The Aeris will compete against models such as the Maruti Dzire, Hyundai Aura, and Honda Amaze.
Bookings are now open, and deliveries will commence on October 11, 2026. With petrol and CNG options, along with a cabin packed with various variants and features, Tata is positioning the Aeris as a practical choice for private car buyers.
