Gwalior: GMC Steps Up Road Repair After High Court Reprimand; Samples Failed Quality Tests

Gwalior: Following the failure of road construction samples in quality checks and the Madhya Pradesh High Court's stern stance regarding the condition of the city's roads, the Municipal Corporation has accelerated road repair work across Gwalior.


Municipal Corporation teams have swung into action, filling potholes and repairing damaged roads in various locations. The campaign aims to provide immediate relief to residents, many of whom were facing difficulties while commuting on severely dilapidated roads.


Assistant Engineer Amit Gupta stated that the repair work was carried out under the instructions of Municipal Commissioner Abhishek Chaudhary. Teams executed patch repairs in areas including Tyagi Nagar, Deendayal Nagar, near Dane Baba Temple, Anand Nagar, 13 Battalion Guda-Gudi Naka, Army Bajariya, Adityapuram, Vaishno Dham, Chakray Ka Pura Bhadroli, Sainik Colony Khurairi, and the Municipal Corporation Colony in Murar.


Repairs were also undertaken on the Ram Nagar-Vicky Factory Road, Bahodapur, Char Shahar Ka Naka-Ranipura, Chawla Market-DD Nagar, Lakhanauti Village, Piproli Road near Chirwai Naka, and the road leading to Naugaon Pahadiya. The road surface in the Phoolbagh area was also leveled.


The Corporation stated that patch repair work would continue in other damaged areas as well. This accelerated campaign is being conducted at a time when questions are being raised about the quality of road construction, making timely and proper repairs essential for the safety and convenience of commuters.
