Indore temples gear up for nine-day Navratri festivities: grand preparations underway across city

Indore: With Ghatasthapana on Sunday, preparations for Navratri celebrations have entered the final stage across Indore. Pandal construction is nearing completion, while temples are being cleaned, painted and decorated for the nine-day festival. Colourful lights, flowers and decorative materials are being used to give the sanctums a festive look.


Temple committees are also completing arrangements for the expected rush of devotees. Special pujas, aartis and religious programmes have been planned, with several temples preparing daily shringar of different forms of the Goddess.


Bijasan Mata Temple to feature daily shringar


Preparations at Bijasan Mata Temple are also nearing completion. Priest Ashok Goswami said the festival will begin on October 11, with the Goddess appearing in a different form each day. Kanya pujan and other religious programmes will also be held. Special prayers will be offered for the peace, prosperity and well-being of the country, Madhya Pradesh and Indore. Painting, floor repairs and electrical decoration are underway.


Annapurna Temple focuses on crowd management


At Annapurna Temple, arrangements are being made in coordination with the administration. Mahamandaleshwar Swami Vishweshwaranand Giri Ji Maharaj said parking, lighting and barricading have been arranged. A nine-day Navchandi Path and other rituals will begin with Ghatasthapana. Entry into the sanctum will remain restricted, while barricades will guide devotees for smoother darshan.


Separate queues at Ambavali Mata Temple


At Ambavali Mata Temple in Rajendra Nagar, separate queues for men and women and arrangements for prasad distribution are being made. Special prayers, aarti, kanya pujan, godh bharai and naming ceremonies will be held. Around 100 local children and youths will assist with arrangements.
