Afghanistan election : candidate killed in bomb blast, 7 injured

On Wednesday, a candidate fighting in Afghanistan has died due to a bomb blast under a couch. Seven others have also been injured. The forthcoming elections in Afghanistan will be held on October 20.

The Taliban took responsibility for the attack on Jarar Kahraman, who stood in the election from Helmand province. It is being told that many people have been arrested in connection with the blasts. It is also being told that at least 10 candidates have been killed in the attacks in Chanuvas in Afghanistan.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
