Rampal was charged with murder, life imprisonment

Haryana's Hissar Court sentenced Rampal to life imprisonment on Wednesday in connection with the murder. Rampal has been given this sentence on Wednesday under FIR No. 430. Earlier, 15 convicts, including Rampal, were also found guilty by the Hissar court on Tuesday for murder.

After the death of a child and four women in a Satlok Ashram in Barwala town of Hisar on November 19, 2014, a case was registered against Rampal and his 27 followers for killing and lodging.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
