Jaitley reaches home from AIIMS, funeral will be held tomorrow

BJP veteran and former finance minister Arun Jaitley has died on Saturday. He died in AIIMS, Delhi, he was admitted to AIIMS for a long time. The body of Arun Jaitley has been taken from AIIMS to his home in Kailash Colony. His last rites will be performed at Nigambodh Ghat tomorrow at 2 o'clock before Jaitley's body will be kept at 10 am for last darshan, after which he will be taken to BJP headquarters.

On behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Health Minister Dr. Harsh Vardhan paid tribute to Arun Jaitley. At the same time, on behalf of BJP President Amit Shah, BJP Executive President JP Nadda reached and paid tribute to Arun Jaitley.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
