Was Bandra-Worli Sea Link’s initial plan changed to benefit construction companies?

Activists are demanding CBI Inquiry to verify whether Bandra-Worli Sea Link plan changed to benefit construction companies(Omkar Builders)?

The Bandra Worli sea link is considered as one of the most beautiful landmark of the country.  It's one part of exotic heritage and perfect architectural design of our modern country.

Longest sea route covering of 5.6 Km distance has most expensive toll of Rs 10/- per Km.

Late Balasaheb Thackery when laid the stone in 1999 shared estimated cost of the sea link as Rs 666 crores which due to cases from environmentalist and negligence in construction work crossed over whooping Rs 1306 Crores.

BWSL is an 8-lane coil supported concrete bridge that connects Western Suburbs (Bandra) of Mumbai with Southern part of Mumbai. It also plays a crucial role in the Western Freeway project.
The BWSL was commissioned by the Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation and constructed by the Hindustan Construction Company.  By its help the travel time between Bandra and Worli is just about 7 Minutes.

Initially there was no U turn in the design but to benefit Omkar builder U turn was introduced.
