PM Modi Meet PV Sindhu

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met India's pride and world champion PV Sindhu today. During the meeting, PV Sindhu along with coach Pullela Gopichand and Sports Minister Kiren Rijiju were also present. Modi congratulated Sindhu for the victory and also saw the medal she received. PM Modi has shared some pictures with Sindhu and has written together that, "The pride and champions of the country, who brought gold for the country as well as much respect. Nice to meet PV Sindhu. I congratulate her for the future."

Let us know that on Sunday, Sindhu defeated Japan's Nozomi Okuhara in a one-sided match in the World Championship, India won the first gold in the Badminton World Championship.

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
