Today is the 43rd death Anniversary of Mukesh famous singer who died on this day in 1976 in Detroit, Michigan, US where he had gone to perform for a live concert.  He died at the age of 53. 

He was also know as voice of the millennium, Tragedy King.  He started his singing career in 1940 and had a glorious 36 years of the career.  He was Survived by his son Neil Nitin Mukesh. 

He bagged many awards including one National Filmfare Award.  A total number of around 1300 songs were sung by him including songs of Andaz and Mela.  His work was also appreciated in Movies like Mera Naam Joker and Purab and Paschim

Media and Entertainment sector lower downs 24% in 2020 despite last-quarter rebound

  India's media and entertainment (M&E) sector lower downed 24% to Rs1.38 trillion in 2020 due to the corona-virus pandemic. The contractions came despite a rebound in the last-quarter. The M&E sector is supposed to expand 25% to Rs1.73 trillion in 2021 and compound annual growth rate of 13.7% to Rs2.23 trillion by 2023, according to a joint report by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry(Ficci) and EY, finance consulting firm.  While advertisement revenues dropped 25% to 19,900 crore and subscriptions fell 20% to 15,400 crores. Digital advertisement remained unchanged, but print (Rs 8,400 crore) and television (Rs 6,900 crore) advertising saw the steepest declines. The only segments that rose in 2020 were digital and online gaming, which added a total of Rs 2,600 crore and their contribution to the M&E sector rose from 16% in 2019 to 23% in 2020.
